ABOUT SWELL CARE FOR KIDS

Swell Care for Kids is the type of practice that Dr. Candelori always dreamed of - knowing patients and their families well.  She started this practice to provide patients whole-child medical care beyond the typical 10 minute appointments allowed by insurance-based practices.  A low monthly membership fee gives you access to her via text, email, or phone call.

WHAT WE DO

With a limited number of patients, Dr. Candelori can focus on your child and their well-being in depth, from acute issues to chronic mental health concerns.

Besides an annual well visit, Dr. Candelori can also address many other pediatric concerns with unlimited visits.

  • Feeding and growth concerns
  • Newborns and common nursing issues
  • Urgent visits, such as cough and cold
  • Asthma and allergy management
  • ADHD evaluation and management
  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Learning disorders
  • Child advocacy in the school system
  • Ear Piercing
  • Straightforward minor fractures and sutures
  • Incision and drainage of small abscesses
  • Acne treatment
  • Eczema management
  • Teen health

Appointments, calls, texts, and emails are unhurried and unlimited.  We want you and your child to get the care you deserve and need.

Meet the doctor

Dr. Candelori was born just outside of Philadelphia, PA. She took it as a personal challenge when a classmate told her that girls could not be doctors when they grew up.  With the overwhelming support of her parents, her journey was set and she rarely wavered from that path, with the exception of growing up - she never wants to do that! Aging might be inevitable, but growing up is not.

After high school, she alternated living in Ohio and Pennsylvania over the next 11 years.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in Biochemistry and Pre-Medicine, along with a minor in English.  She headed to University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, felt called to Pediatrics as her specialty, and was awarded the Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award.  From there, she returned to Ohio for residency at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center where she discovered her love of primary care pediatrics.

As fate would have it, residency also offered her another love - she met her husband, Dave, when they were paired together during a month-long rotation.  They soon married and moved south for the reasons most people move to Florida - sunshine and warmth!  A few years after settling into their new careers, they grew their family with two children, Sally and Simon, along with their adopted mutts.

During the 17 years she has lived in Florida, Dr. Candelori has been active in the community.  She has served as President of the Central Florida Pediatric Society and was on their board for several years.  She was on the SAC committee for her children's elementary school.  Volunteering in the community is important to her, and she currently is a member of the board of GROW Healthy Kids, a non-profit organization that focuses on keeping all children healthy and supports a network of contacts to get shoes to children in need, run clubs for kids, sports equipment to schools, and sports balls to law enforcement to make meaningful connections in their neighborhoods.

In her spare time, Dr. Candelori enjoys baking, cooking, painting, and crafting, but most importantly:  being outside as much as possible - hiking with her kids and dogs, running with friends, hot yoga, and dragging her family across the country to reach her goal of a race in every state. She has completed 8 marathons and countless half-marathons, and also really enjoys triathlons!  She completed her first 70.3 Ironman in June 2023; her goal is to cross-train to keep her body healthy and pain-free for many years to come!  She is excited to start offering "Walk with the Doc" events soon.
